Glorifying the word “Razakar”
is disgraceful. Razakar is an insulting word, meaning traitor or deceiver.
Our beloved motherland was liberated at the cost of the lives of millions of
martyrs. The slogan "Ami Razakar" has been uttered by some young
students of Bangladesh recently showing utmost disrespect towards our
motherland. It resembles ungratefulness to the contribution made so far by the
current government for the development of this country.
Our Honorable Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of the founder of the Nation; sacrificed
her personal life for the betterment of the people of this land. She took every
possible measure to make the nation reach the point where we are today. At this
stage of development, being ungrateful to the head of the government is no less
than denying our existence. We as a nation won the liberation war by being
united under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and we are
moving ahead towards achieving the development goals of modern world under the
able leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter.
We shall lose our
identity again if we fall into the trap of the conspirators who are playing
under the disguise of these young students. Today's young students are the
future of this country. To some extent they are acting as puppets to meet the
agenda of some mastermind, who are self-acclaimed “Rajakar”. Playing with the
emotion of the young mind against the government is just a tool for taking back
the nation from where we came forward. Let's fight back against the
conspiracy together, hand in hand. The brilliant minds of our young students
should not be exploited this way. If that happens then it would be the worst
thing to happen in our “Sonar Bangla”.
Bangabandhu dreamt of a
discrimination-free nation which has been materialized by our Honorable Prime
Minister. Let's not lose our identity, our existence, our unity. As a citizen
of this country, my humble request to all the students is that they should try
to understand what is true and what is false. This government shall stand
beside them whatever the situation. However, we can't let conspirators play
with us, or exploit us for their interest. If it is a quota reform movement,
then the ball is in the court of the judiciary. The judiciary, being an
independent body; shall decide on quota reform issue. We must stop ourselves
from taking a matter being adjudicated in a court of law in our hands. If we
don’t stop then it goes against the laws of the country and international laws.
We cannot expect our HPM to interfere in this process. On Dr. Yunus issue, our
Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has always said her government is not
and would never interfere in matters pending before the court. Her stance is
still the same and she has not moved back a single step from what she said
earlier. It seems like the people, who were protesting for quota reform; are
going in the wrong direction. Social media posts and some media reports suggest
the protest has turned from "quota reform" to the “fall of the
government”.
Why and for whom?
The answer is clear and
known to every one of us.
This government worked
for women's empowerment, building entrepreneurship, economic freedom and
whatnot. It did everything possibly could be done to represent our nation with
pride before the world. The world looks at us with respect now. Being a
journalist, I visited quite a few countries. I have traveled the world as a
tourist, as a lawyer, as a mother of my children. Wherever I went, I found the
world leaders looking at our honorable Prime Minister with respect and
reliance. I discovered her new identity as a “Place of Hope” among the world
leaders and it made me immensely proud to say I'm from Bangladesh. Let's fight
against all the rumors that shake our own identity. It is us who need to stand
upright now to save our nation. I have young children too. My children may get
into the trap of these conspirators in the near future, if I don’t act now
against these plotters. As long as our nation has the daughter of Bangabandhu
over our heads by the grace of Almighty, we are in good hands, nothing can harm
us. I'm assuring all the young students in the street as a mother of four
children that this government shall never do anything harmful for the young
students. We must stand strong, united against any conspiracy. A mother's
instinct never goes wrong, and it is a request from a mother.
Our Honorable Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina is a motherly figure for every generation we look up
to. It's time to get united against the
conspirators who are putting these young students in front to achieve their own
goals and protect their interests against the nation.
